So then. Still working on that other site, but I've come back to
update a little. New Xbox 360 page up,
and placeholders for the PS3 and Nintendo's now-named console, the
Wii.
Revolution was cool, it made us feel like gaming would have a nice
positive change coming up. Wii is... different. It will take some
getting used to. I think I like it. It's weird. That's good. Right?

Also, I've had a chance to poke around at DDO
(Dungeons and Dragons Online, for the uninitiated) during their trial.
It's an interesting game. I don't think I'd shell out for it just
now, maybe when they flesh the idea out a bit. As a tabletop gamer,
I think it does a pretty nice job of translating that experience into
an MMO and breaking down the traditional rules present in MMOs. I'm
just used to having flexibility in my Dungeons and Dragons. Don't
get me wrong, there's tons packed in there, more than your average
electronic D&D translation, if you ignore the content they're
holding out for expansions (Gnomes, Half-Elves, Half-Orcs, and Eberron's
Shifters, Changelings, and Kalashtar). Here's what it boils down to:
If you liked Neverwinter
Nights and you want something that pulls you in a bit more, try
it.
If you want an MMO that isn't like other MMOs out there, go for it.
If you enjoy Dungeons and Dragons and want a nice MMO interpretation,
give it a shot.
If you are a Dungeons and Dragons fanatic and must own every single
game based on it, I won't stand in your way of buying
it.
Graphics: Not bad. Audio: Pretty nice. Gameplay: Fun.
Perhaps its most notable difference from other MMOs, in terms of play
experience, is that you basically have to group up with other people,
soloing is nigh on impossible after a few quests. But, hey, it's a
multiplayer game, right?
Finally, I've gotten involved in a new project with a friend. We've
talked about the idea for over a year, and now it's statring to see
some dawn. There's nothing to see yet of note, but if you're just
one of those people who has to go there, this
magical link will take you there.
